Every year for Christmas, I make a huge batch of BBQ sauce for gifts, and my wife makes the labels. This year’s is called Mister Michael’s Murder Mittens

It’s named after our cat, Mister Michael.
The sauce started by reducing a bunch of pomegranate juice and ginger beer. Then, in a separate pan, I cooked a bunch of peppers (habanero, Fresno, Anaheim, seranno), crushed garlic, ginger, tomato paste and 2 cans of rotel in a pan until it browned a bit.
I deglazed with some pomegranate cider from a local cidery and some apple cider vinegar and champagne vinegar.
I added just a ton of cans of tomato sauce and crushed tomatoes, mustard seeds, and a couple bay leafs.
Cooked that for a bit. Then I added dragon fruit, my pomegranate syrup, honey, molasses, a ton of spices, and salt and cooked down for another hour or two.
All together it was about 2.25 gallons of cooked sauce.
The hardest part of this was keeping Mr. Michael away. He kept trying to jump into the sink to get my dishes and into the recycling to get my cans.

Well, it looks like it’s a lot of work, but I bet it is absolutely phenomenal. It’s also good, Mister Michael allows you to use his name, image, and likeness without any issues.
